1. Provenance & Sourcing

1.1 Where does the Bhut Jolokia come from?

A single garden in Sibsagar, Assam — one soil, one season, one harvest to speak of.

1.2 What makes this chilli different?

Drawn from one garden alone, in one season alone. Nothing approximate about it.

1.3 Where are the honey and olive oil from?

Honey, raw and organic, gathered from the mangroves of the Sundarbans. Oil, cold-pressed and organic, from the groves of Jaén, Spain.

1.4 Are these ingredients certified organic?

We make no certified claim as a brand. Where an ingredient is organic, the bottle will say so — and only there.

 

2. The Product Itself

2.1 How hot is it?

Considerable, and considered. This is, after all, no ordinary chilli. Begin modestly.

2.2 What does it taste like?

The Hot Honey: floral, smouldering, persistent. The Chilli Oil: bright, botanical, profound.

2.3 Ingredients and allergens?

A few, named in full upon the bottle. No allergens within — though the facility also handles soy, milk and nuts.

2.4 Shelf life and storage?

Chilli Oil - Nine months, refrigerated once opened.

Hot Honey - Nine months, store in cool & dry condition, no refrigeration required even upon  opening. Should the honey crystallise in the cold, take it as a quiet proof of its purity, not a flaw. Decrystallize or reliquefy it by giving the bottle a hot water bath for about 20 mins at 40°C.

2.5 Finishing or cooking?

Finishing, only. A few drops at the end go further than the heat.

2.6 Why only 235 bottles?

The entirety of what this harvest yielded. Future harvests may offer more, or less. We follow the land, not a number.

 

3. Waitlist & Access — the Discreet

3.1 How does it work?

Members of the Discreet are offered access a day before all others, notified by email or WhatsApp ahead of each harvest.

3.2 How much time do I have?

Confirmation arrives within two hours of joining. One a harvest is live you’ll have twenty-four hours in which to purchase, or until the bottles are gone.

3.3 Any limit on quantity?

One bottle of each, or a single combination, per member, per harvest.

3.4 Will there be a Harvest II?

Yes — and your place among the Discreet is held, not lost.

 

4. Authenticity & Collectability

4.1 Are bottles numbered?

Not upon the bottle itself, but upon a postcard enclosed with it, noting the number you hold.

4.2 Certificate of authenticity?

Available for any ingredient, upon request.

4.3 Will Harvest I return?

No. Once it is gone, it remains so.

5. Ordering, Payment & Delivery

5.1 Payment methods?

All standard online methods. We ask only that it not be cash.

5.2 Where do you ship?

Across India, arriving within two to seven days.

5.3 How is it packaged?

Set in foam, within a rigid box, within another — protection enough for the journey.

5.4 Can I track delivery?

By email or WhatsApp, with courier tracking where it is offered.
